We are an established Sealed Unit manufacturer based in the Midlands.  On the 14th January 2005, the company gained it's BSI Kitemark to standard BS EN 1279.  At Kash 'n' Karry we have invested heavily in equipment to make the company ready for the Kitemark standards that were introduced in 2006. 

What is a Sealed Unit?

A sealed unit is a construction consisting of 2 panes of glass spaced apart with an aluminium spacer bar to form a cavity between the panes. An edge seal is applied around each cavity to form a hermetic seal minimising the ingress of moisture into the cavity. A desiccant is incorporated in the spacer bar to dry up any residual moisture.

KnK High Performance Seal Insulating Double Glazing Units

These double glazed products are designed to meet the many and varied needs of the window and conservatory industry.

KnK High Performance Sealed Insulating Double Glazing Units comply with BS 5713 and BS 6206.  They incorporate a Hot Melt seal and an aluminium spacer in a choice of colours and widths from 6-20mm and can include a combination of two glasses from Pilkington^TM , Solaglas^R and Guardian range including both Pilkington Activ^TM and Solaglas BioClean^R Self Cleaning Glass.  They contain dessicant to keep the air or gas in the unit dry and free from organic vapours.  The perimeter of the unit is hermetically sealed with a Hot Melt seal system.  The seal can withstand a wide tempreture range and provides high resistance to UV light.

KnK Warm construction uses Guardian 1.4 and Pilkington 'K' Low emissivity coated glass with intergral sealed spacer bar to create thermally efficient double glazing units.  The unique design and the material used reduces the hot or cold tempretures from transferring to the inside.

• Guardian Low Emissivity coating allows the free shortwave energy from the sun to enter the building, but acts as a barrier to the escape of expensive longwave energy from internal heat sources.

Toughened Safety Glass

Toughened Glass is up to five times stronger than ordinary glass of the same thickness and meets safety standards for glass subjected to accidental human impact at the highest level.  As a result architects and builders can specifiy glass for a wider range of uses in a building.

 Argon Filling

Kash n Karry offer at a small additional charge the option to Argon fill the cavitity inside the double glazed unit.  Thus decreasing the U-Value of the unit.

CE Mark - Kitemark

As from the 14th January 2005, Kash n Karry Sealed Units Ltd are a Kitemarked company.  This means that all our double glazed units are manufactured to BSI Standards - BS EN 1279.  All of our units will be marked with the kitemark licence number KM88107.

NO SMOKING POLICY

 

Introduction

Secondhand smoking, breathing in other people’s tobacco smoke, has been shown to cause cancers, heart and respiratory disease in non-smokers.

 

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 places a duty on employers to provide a working environment that is:

 

‘Safe, without risks to health’

 

Kash n Karry Sealed Units Ltd acknowledges that secondhand tobacco smoke is both a public and work place health hazard and have therefore adopted this no-smoking policy.

 

Aims of the Policy

The policy seeks to:

o      Guarantee a healthy working  environment and protect the current and future health of employees, customers and visitors

o      Guarantee the right of non-smokers to breathe in air free from tobacco smoke

o      To comply with Health & Safety Legislation and Employment Law

o      Raise awareness of the dangers associated with exposure to tobacco smoke

o      Take account of the needs of those who smoke and to support those who wish to stop

 

Restrictions on Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in any part of the premises, entrances or grounds at any time, by any person regardless of their status or business with the organisation/company.

 

Smoking will not be tolerated at entrances and exits and is not permitted in any of the following areas, lifts, corridors, stairways or wells, toilets, meeting or staff rooms or other areas.

 

Visitors

All visitors, contractors and deliverers are required to abide by the no-smoking policy. Staff members are expected to inform customers or visitors of the no-smoking policy. However they are not expected to enter into any confrontation which may put their personal safety at risk.

 

Vehicles

Smoking is not permitted in company vehicles or any vehicles being used on company business
